July 2011 - Ohio Heat 11U National Crowned AAYBA World Series Champions!

The 2011 Ohio Heat 11U National team capped another strong season by capturing the AAYBA World Series Championship in St. Louis, MO.  The Heat battled some of the best teams in Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas and Texas and overcame soaring temperatures to go 3-0 in pool play.  The Heat's hot bats and stifling defense resulted in 48 runs scored and only 4 runs allowed to capture the #2 seed. 

The Heat stayed hot in bracket play defeating the Rockford Big Dogs (eventual Diamond Bracket Champions) in quarter-final play.  In the semi-finals, the Heat faced the Mizzou Elite - generally considered the best team in the tournament - and quickly dispatched the Elite with a relentless hitting attack.  The Championship Game pitted the Heat against the #1 seeded Missouri Prospects.  The Heat combined timely hitting and outstanding pitching to run-rule the Prospects in 5 innings and capture the Championship in decisive fashion.
